Directions to Mountain Spirit Inn
The Mountain Spirit Inn is located directly on Highway 93 in DOWNTOWN Darby. Highway 93's name is Main Street through the town of Darby.
Traveling from the north, from Missoula, you will travel down Highway 93 approximately 65 miles, and the Mountain Spirit Inn will be on your left.
Traveling from the south, specifically from the Idaho boarder and/or the Big Hole Valley (Hwy 43), you will go north on Highway 93 approximately 32 miles. Just as you enter the town of Darby, the Mountain Spirit Inn will be on your right, across the street from a huge American flag and a veterans' memorial.
Highway 93 is also the TransAmerica Bicycle Path, the Nez Perce Trail and the Lewis and Clark Trail.
7th Annual Darby Dog Derby Sled Dog Race, January 17-18
The 7th annual Darby Dog Derby Sled Dog Race is scheduled for January 17-18 at Gibbons Pass Road #1260, near to Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Area, Sula, Montana. The Darby Dog Derby is a sled dog race put on by the Bitterroot Mushers, in association with the Montana Mountain Mushers. Montana Mountain Mushers is a non-profit group, which promotes the ethical treatment of sled dogs and multi-use of the winter trails.
Sled dog racers are a diverse group who travel many miles across states and Canada to attend races. The Darby Dog Derby caters to all experience levels including juniors, seasoned veterans and beginners of all ages just trying dog sledding for the first time.
