B bar B - Bronc Bustin' & Barrel Burnin', September 20-21
The Darby Rodeo Association presents a new annual event, Bronc Bustin' & Barrel Burnin' on Saturday, September 20, followed by the PRCA Rodeo on Sunday, September 21. Join Western Montana for the inaugural B bar B Bronc Bustin' & Barrel Burnin' event of the year. Riders of all ages will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money while you enjoy a great rodeo, great food, and fun. Darby's first official PRCA Rodeo in years will be held on Sunday. Gates open at 5:00 pm on Saturday, and at 12:30 pm on Sunday.

Scarecrow Festival, October 3
The annual Scarecrow Festival is the town of Stevensville's premier art event. Locals decorate scarecrows, which are then put on display and judged to receive prizes. The public can cast votes for a series of people's choice awards. The Scarecrow Festival coincides with the First Friday celebration in October, this year on October 3. Scarecrows are displayed along the walkway River Path entrance into Stevensville, with other events held in downtown Stevensville. Scarecrows are kept on display around town for the following week. There is also a pumpkin carving contest and horse-drawn wagon rides on the Friday kickoff, Oktoberfest accordion music, Main Street Open Houses offering refreshments and fun! Hours: Friday: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm, and Saturday: All day.

This scenic highway is also part of the Nez Perce Trail; it goes all the way from Canada to Mexico, and it is part of the TransAmerica Bicycle Path. The Mountain Spirit Inn is within close proximity to the Continental Divide Hiking Trail (CDT) and Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Area. This is beautiful country!
